Integrity - Jon Maxwell

For me, leadership is all about trust, and at the core of trust is integrity.  In a recent post, John Maxwell publishes a few quotes on integrity from his "file drawer" collection of quotations.  He starts off with the following basic (and true) concept:

"Integrity is: Doing what you said you would do, when you said you would do it, and how you said you would do it."  Byrd Baggett.

In my personal experience, when you do what you said you would do, people begin to trust your integrity and begin to trust you.  On the flip side, when you make promises that you don't keep, people start to doubt your integrity.  By being trusted, house counsel are more able to impact the decisions of their corporate clients.
